Coaching

Coaching should be more than a good conversation. Coaching is also the investigation of underlying motives that (unconsciously) drive behaviour. Discovering patterns that someone keeps running into, and then helping this person to break them. At the heart of all coaching lies the connection between coachee and coach. A good “click” and a professional relationship of trust are conditions for change. Feedback that I often receive as a coach is that I quickly understand what it is about, also in the context of various organizations and roles, from boardroom to individual professional. This is should not be too remarkable with 25 years of experience ; ) As a clinical and organizational psychologist I can asses potential underlying psychosocial and work-related problems. But coaching is not a therapy because the focus is on healthy and effective functioning at work. I am also trusting, relaxed, friendly and confrontational and a bad time manager. In a coaching conversation I ensure critical reflection and persistence towards action.
